Who we are

Meet Chef Jay, a native New Yorker from Harlem with southern roots. The visionary behind Native Gnaws’, a black-owned private catering business that specializes in plant-forward cuisine with Southern and Latin influences. Inspired by her late grandmother to become a chef, Jay pursued her passion at the Institute of Culinary Education in 2015, where she broadened her culinary knowledge. She has had the privilege of working with a few celebrity chefs and has played a key role in opening several restaurants. Jay’s culinary creations are deeply rooted in the rich and diverse flavors of Southern and Latin traditions. With a commitment to health and taste, she has crafted a menu that delights the palate while nourishing the body. Whether catering an intimate gathering or a grand event, Chef Jay and the Native Gnaws’ team are dedicated to providing exceptional food and creating unforgettable culinary experiences.
